EPHID (Acronym for “Every Pain Has Its Dance”) is the provisory title for a body practice-based research on womxn’s mental and reproductive health in contemporary art practice.
The thought that there must be a movement to soothe every pain inspired me to start this project where I documented improvisation solos while having menstrual cramps.

The thought that there must be a movement to soothe every pain inspired me to start this project where I documented improvisation solos while having menstrual cramps.
Born in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. Lives in Berlin. From an early stage Fabíola has developed her taste for research, movement, sound, substance and the body, through music,dance studies and sports.
Graduated in Fine Arts - Sculpture (FBAUP and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp), her content has also been presented in scientific conferences of endocrinology and metabolism researches.
Also graduated in singing at the Complete Vocal Institute in Denmark, she was a student of Catherine Sadolin in the Pedagogics of singing through CVT techniques.
Fabíola is now finishing her Masters degree in Creative Production (Music) at Catalyst Institute at the Funkhaus Berlin, an MA by the MarJOn University in Plymouth, United Kingdom
Her main subjects of research are non choreographed recurrence of patterns of expression, real time composition, props-making crossover between scenography with ephemeral interventions in space and experimental performative printmaking as a mean of register a live performance .
In the past, she has toured with her French and Belgian Ensembles all Over Europe, and worked as an associate actress and composer for the French Lille-based theatre company "Cie Velum". While in NYC, Fabíola was also an assistant for the avant-gard producer Raz Mesinai, with whom she also collaborated on the movie "tunnel vision", released by John Zorn's Tzadik Records.
Nowadays she focuses her ASMR Radio Show under the name @fabs.asmr, in developing her own multidisciplinary independent creations and is a presence in the improvised and experimental music scene of Berlin.
Fabíola considers herself a Vocalist, Sculpturer and Performer, and the genres of her most recent works fall into the cathegories of noise, experimental, hardcore, dreamcore, freejazz, and pop. She sometimes travels and performs with her grandmother's bed.
